FADDEEV APPROACH TO THE NUCLEON AND NUCLEON STRUCTURE FUNCTION
After a review of the results obtained in the relativistic
Faddeev approach to the nucleon in the Nambu-Jona-Lasinio
(NJL) model, we discuss the spin independent nucleon
structure functions obtained by using a simple approximation
to the full Faddeev wave function. Pion cloud effects are
taken into account, and various sum rules are discussed.
We also discuss an attempt to construct a nuclear matter
equation of state in the framework of the NJL model, based
on the Faddeev (quark-diquark) picture for the single
nucleon. The model exhibits an instability, similar to the
one encountered in previous sigma-model studies of nuclear
matter.
