Abstract

■ Structure of hot and rotating nuclei ■

Study of the evolution of nuclear structure with the increase of angular momentum and excitation energies is an interesting topic of current interest. Experimental information on this is expected to be provided by the study of the decay properties of giant dipole resonances built on excited states.

We shall briefly discuss the latest theoretical developments in this area which is essentially based on the path integral representation of the grand canonical partition function for a hot rotating nucleus.
